We conduct research in Big Data systems and their optimizations and improvements at the data, system, and network layers. Big Data facilitates the collaboration with other scientific disciplines and industry to develop data-intensive and data-enabled applications.

A significant part of working with Big Data is to understand how to deploy, monitor, and tune data-intensive systems. An end-to-end Big Data platform is composed of a set of well-designed and well-integrated hardware and software components including storage systems, network interconnects, file systems, and analytical modules.
