The addictive, marine aquarium hobby

My 25 gallon marine aquarium has been running for 9 months
Equipment includes 110 watt PC light system with one white and one blue bulb,
BAK PAK II skimmer, one power head, and a skilter (for sump)
Tank parameters: pH between 7.85 and 8.30, salinity 1.026, temp 80,
alk 3.0 to 4.0 meq/l, and Ca 300 to 450 ppm.
Water change: one gallon per month
Additives: all make-up water is kalkwasser and
I add 1 tsp of each of B-Ionic #1 & #2 each day.
I also add essential elements, etc.
I feed the fish once a week, usually live brine shrimp.

I couldn't grow macroalgae because I had a mithrax crab.
The crab starved to death and now my tank has lots of macro algae.
I harvest at least 1 fist full of algae each week.

I wish I could get my xenia to thrive and grow.
