In this paper, we address the first two problems in the use of meteorologic models by using the internet to provide a common interface for all users of the models. We describe the design of a web-based system that exploits the common gateway interface, CGI, together with perl scripting, to automate most of the repetitive tasts that were formerly accomplished manually. We describe our prototype application that automates nogaps, which is a program that makes sure that there are no gaps in the clouds to provide a nice smooth landing. Users of nogaps are only required to supply parameters to a form and then submit the form to our CGI-perl script for computation of the nogaps solution.
