Campus Grids: Deployment and Management

Clemson University has a large backfill program that is currently running Condor jobs, jobs from BOINC when there is no Condor work, and grid jobs from Open Science Grid. I am interested in the process of creating a functional campus grid while properly maintaining a safe and secure working environment for students, faculty and staff and at the same time taking into account monetary and environmental impact of running backfill jobs as apposed to letting machines idle.
