Physically Based Animation
Final Project Proposal

I propose a simulation of gelatinous soft body. This simulation will be composed of individual particles, which will be dynamically created from an emitter. Once created, they will form bonds based off of their relative distance from each other. Once they have made a bond with their neighbors, they will then be connected through springs. Each spring will have a tolerance limit which when exceeded will cause the spring to break and the bond to be broken. Each particle will have a stickiness factor for when they come in contact with a wall or the use controlled sphere, it will stick. This will allow the clump of particles to stick to the walls and the sphere. The elements of this simulation are as follows:
1) Particle emitter
2) Particle members (position, velocity, mass, list of neighbors, etc.)
3) Dynamic spring relationships between particles
4) Particle stickiness with objects (walls, sphere)
Particles will be represented as spheres and the spring relationships will be represented with lines.
The goal of this simulation would be to create an approximate simulation of viscous adhesive fluids such as mucus or other synthetic lubricants.
